Mariann Genematas Ernst Mariann Genematas Ernst, President
As President, Mariann is responsible for the overall operations of The Foundation, and serves as Ambassador to the communities within which The Foundation provides support.

Granddaughter of founder Nicholas W. Genematas, Mariann graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. She worked in marketing at an ad agency in Royal Oak, Michigan, and also spent several years at the company her grandfather built, Marathon Linen Service, in quality control, marketing, and accounting services.

A life-long interest in the fashion industry drew Mariann to work in retail fashion for several years while her husband Brett studied medicine at Wayne State University. Following his residency, Mariann and Brett settled in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and raised their two daughters. Mariann ultimately returned to retail fashion, where she has helped manage a high-end boutique for the past 12 years, working in sales, marketing, and buying, and coordinating fashion shows held to benefit various non-profit organizations.



Brett B. Ernst Brett B. Ernst, M.D., Vice President
Brett grew up in Rochester, Michigan, and began medical school after graduating with honors from Albion College. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University and completed his Residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio before joining Schein Ernst Eye Associates in 1993, where he is currently Vice President and Treasurer. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ernst serves as Chief of Ophthalmology for Pinnacle Health System and is an Associate professor at the Penn State University School of Medicine. Brett lives in Harrisburg with his wife Mariann, and they have two daughters.



J. Emery Barke J. Emery Barker, Foundation Counsel, Mesh, Clark and Rothschild
J. Emery Barker was raised in Phoenix, where his grandfather homesteaded land in the early 1900's. He received his J.D. from the University of Arizona, was admitted to practice law in 1960.

He has served both as a Judge Pro Tempore and Settlement Judge Pro Tempore in Pima County Superior Court and in Division One of the Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Best Lawyers in America® and has held an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell® for more than 30 years.

He served for seven years on the Arizona State Bar Committee on Rules of Professional Conduct, and seven years as a hearing officer in lawyer disciplinary matters. He has served as President of the Pima County Bar Association and the Pima County Legal Aid Society.

Mr. Barker is a past president and an Honorary Life Member of the Metropolitan (Tucson) YMCA, and has been a leader and organizer of many other youth-oriented activities in the community.



Duke C. Corley Duke C. Corley, CPA
Duke C. Corley serves as Certified Public Accountant for The Foundation. Duke graduated from the University of Arizona with degrees in Finance and Accounting, and has practiced accountancy and financial consultancy for a number of respected firms including Peat Marwick Mitchell, Merrill Lynch and KPMG. In 1991 he founded Duke Corley CPA PC, where he serves as President.

Duke’s practice areas include income tax preparation for individuals, fiduciaries, private foundations, C corporations, S corporations and partnerships; and tax planning and accounting assistance for individuals, small businesses, and private foundations. He is a member of the Arizona State Board of Accountancy and the Arizona Society of CPAs.

In addition to his work for The Nicholas W. Genematas II Foundation, Duke devotes his time and accountancy skills to the United Way, the Tucson Girls Chorus, the Phi Gamma Delta House Corporation, the Fruchthendler Elementary PTO, and on the Public Relations Committee of the Southern Chapter of the Arizona Society of CPAs.



Jeanette S. Bloss Jeanette S. Bloss, Secretary
Jeanette Bloss was born and raised in the northern and midwestern states, moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1985. She worked as a statistician in the banking industry and an assistant in the graphic arts department of a large corporation before pursuing her career as a paralegal in the area of probate and trust law.

Jeanette has served the Tucson community as a probate and trust law paralegal for over twenty-six years and is certified by the National Association of Legal Assistants. She obtained her individual fiduciary license from the State of Arizona Supreme Court in 2008 and also serves as an Investigator in guardianship and conservatorship cases for the Pima County Superior Court.

Jeanette is pursuing college studies in the areas of forensic accounting and fraud examination, to further assist the elderly and special needs community. She is a member of the Arizona Fiduciary Association, Pima Council on Aging, the National Association of Legal Assistants, and the Pima County Bar Association.

Jeanette is the proud mother of two children and enjoys spending time at home with her family. She also participates in the budget assistance program with Pima Council on Aging, is a reading tutor through the Lawyers for Literacy program, and an advocate for the protection and support of our elderly and individuals with special needs.
